Hexagon Cardigan

This is a cardigan made from 2 crochet hexagons.  If you can crochet a granny square, then you can make this!  I found the idea for this on Pinterest and as usual, I just went off a photo that I saw on there.

So, if you can crochet a granny square with treble crochet stitches then this is really easy to adapt.

**Important note** you will need a LOT of yarn to make this, if you want it symmetrical then you will need at least 2 balls of the same colour.

To make this, I used a 4.5mm hook and DK yarn.

To start, chain 6 then join the first and last chain with a slip stitch.

Next, chain 3 and treble crochet twice into the circle. Chain 1 then 3 treble crochet into circle. Repeat this until you have 6 clusters in the circle. Join with slip stitch and chain 3.

From here, you will continue with treble crochet just like a granny square - except that there are 6 sides to this not 4.

Keep going round, changing yarn if you want until it reaches the size you need. If you fold it in half to make an L shape, you can see what the size is (see photo below).

Now, don't worry if the hexagon loses shape, once it's folded the shape comes together better.

Now, you've got one hexagon, it's time to make another identical (in size) one.

Once you have 2 hexagons, fold them both so they are in the L shape. Now you need to sew up one side which will make a sleeve then join the 2 hexagons to make the back of the cardigan.

And that's it! It's quite simple if you already know how to make granny squares.
