Coffee Cup Cosy
Do you want to add a little something extra to a gift that's handmade? This easy to make and stretchy coffee cup cosy is the perfect accessory (and is a great scrap yarn buster).
I've designed this myself after multiple attempts at cup warmers and cosies that I have made recently and this will fit around most coffee cups whether they be reusable or not.
You will need to know how to knit in rib stitch and stockinette stitch to complete this pattern and have some (not a lot) of double knit yarn.
You will need:
DK yarn
4.5mm needles
Measuring tape
Sewing needle
Scissors
Method:
Cast on 34 stitches
Rib stitch (knit 1 purl 1) for 1 inch
Swap to stockinette stitch (knit a row, purl a row) for 2 inches
Then swap back to rib stitch for 1 more inch
Cast off
Sew up side seam
That's it!
It should come out stretchy even if it doesn't look big enough to go around a coffee cup - photo below shows what it will look like once you have finished.
