Easy Crochet Crop Top

This is so easy, I'm not sure why I didn't make it sooner.  Not only is this style of top in fashion, its versatile to wear.  It's made using 4 rectangles.

For this, I used my own measurements - I'm a UK size 20 and I'm 5ft 3" in height so I wanted it to fit correctly.

You will need to start by measuring yourself:

Under bust (this is so its not too loose once wearing)
Bra strap length or length of straps on the top you find most comfortable
Length from top of bust to waist/length you want

You will need:

5mm crochet hook
At least 200g of DK yarn (I didn't use cotton yarn, which may need more)
Sewing needle
Scissors
Tape measure

The whole top is made using double crochet (UK terms) and measurements.

To make my size (UK size 20), use the following measurements:

Front & back panel - 21 inches x 12 inches
Straps (2) - 2 inches x 14 inches

I wanted my stitching to go vertically so to begin, I chained 12 inches then double crochet each row until it reached 21 inches.

For the straps, chain for 2 inches then double crochet for 14 inches.

Sew the front and the back together to make a tube.

Measure where you want the straps to go - I did this by putting the tube on and adding stitch markers so I could then sew the straps on.

That's it.  Easy right?
