Christmas Decorations

 

This year I wanted to change my Christmas decorations and ornaments as we've had the same decorations for a long time.  I like rustic decorations but as we are living on a very tight budget, I decided it would be easier and more fun to make my own.

All but one of these ideas I found on Pinterest - let me make that clear.  I may have done them my own way and they do look a little rough around the edges but this is just to give you some basic decoration ideas and inspiration.

Firstly, we have the bauble.  I simply crocheted a circle then added a few extra stitches at the top to make it look complete. From Pinterest.

Secondly, we have the star which doesn't seem to have pointy points. From Pinterest.

Thirdly, we have a granny square Christmas tree. From Pinterest.

And fourthly, we have a pin motif - this I found in a crochet book but can be easily found online.  It looks similar to a mini mandala.

In addition to the above, I didn't want to use tinsel so I make a crochet paper style chain using multiple colours.  This is really easy to make with rectangles of the same size but you can choose any size or colour you like!

My daughter decorated the tree this year, the whole design of the tree is perfectly imperfect and is perfectly us as a family.  Happy Christmas folks!!
